The SynPhonix is the name of the synthesizer card. For awhile, you couldn't run anything on that except artic vision and business vision. They are now making a nodel of the synphonix that will allow other software to run but I'm not sure if you have to request that specially when you buy the system. If, when it boots up and you run artic, it says "Visions enhanced speech translator" followed by the version number, you probably will need to buy the sonix program, which you can order from artic for $50. You might try calling artic and giving them your serial number. They might be able to tell from their records which version of the synthesizer you have. As for your other question about silver express, I don't use that reader so couldn't tell you where to get it locally. There are lots of boards that have it. William Wilson, the moderator of this echo, has it on his bbs, blinklink. The number there is (412)766-0732. It's on other boards too but that's the only one whose number I can remember. Maybe you could get your sysop to file request it but you may have to call and download it yourself. Hope that helps. marda -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!393!2!Marda.Anderson Internet: Marda.Anderson@f2.n393.z1.fidonet.org
