For me at least they do exactly what you want. ie kill background but allow conversation. I would suggest calling a safety supply company and seeing if they are willing to give you a free sample to try. It would be polite to buy some later. Second the new Heathkit Catalog I received has a White/Pink noise generator kit. You mentioned in a previous message that you have some electronic skill so it should be no problem. The kit number is AD-1309, it costs $39.95 and the Skill level is 1 (easiest). You can call 1-800-253-0570 to order. As far a headphones you could try some out at the local stereo shop. I'd guess that you want the older style rather than the new lightweight ones but try both. If you really want to spend money David Clark noise canceling phones are available but, they cost several hundred dollars. Try an Industrial or aviation electronics supplier. I hope you find this information useful and let me know hat happens. Best of luck -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!115!778!David.Postler Internet: David.Postler@f778.n115.z1.fidonet.org
