William,
  Vocal-Eyes will have no problem with DOS 4.01.  We have several users
using that configuration with no problems.  However, I have had bad
experiences with DOS 4.00 and DOS 4.01.  Not with speech but just in
general.  We have a program that causes strange hard drive problems
every now and then with or without speech.  But many people claim they
have no problems with it.  Personally I won't go with DOS 4.01.  Maybe
DOS 5.0 when it is available though.
