About a year ago a friend showed me an article which described a robot guide. There weren't many details given but the article predicted that it would be a couple of years before the unit was ready to go into production. One of the problems is that it's still too large to be practical. I can't imagine stuffing one into the front seat of a sub- compact car for instance. I don't know if this thing will ever make it though.
