I've been interested in this recording for a long time, but didn't feel like shelling out $150 for it. Let me say that I shelled out $10, and it was really worth it! What a recording. I don't think I've ever heard a recording where the orchestral crescendos had such impact, except maybe on the one Living Presence LP I own (The Birds, found it at a yard sale, kind of beat up). Plus, for a CD, the liners and artwork were pretty good. Wow. Great job. Prediction: TAS will say...'lacks sounstage, high end rolled off, no "air" around the instruments, no bass, same old digital crap...' Hopefully, I'm wrong about this. It would be a shame for them to pan this, since it is a very important event *musically*. Pete hugo@sunapee.dartmouth.edu
