While the role of oral lesions has been debated, it has never been implicated in the genital transmission that I am aware of. A posting over the last couple of days quoted a SF study of "toppers" vs "bottomers" and showed that neither was in greater risk than the other! THE ONLY SAFE SEX IS THAT WHERE THERE IS A BARRIER BETWEEN YOUR AND THE OTHER PERSON AND EVEN THEN IT MAY NOT BE SAFE. IF THERE IS NO BARRIER, YOU ARE AT SIGNIFICANT RISK IF THE PARTNER IS HIV POSITIVE. This is true whether the sex is oral, anal or vaginal. PLEASE, FOLK, DO NOT TAKE CHANCES! -- J.
