Path: utzoo!attcan!uunet!tut.cis.ohio-state.edu!att!cbnews!military From: jepullia@copper.ucs.indiana.edu (John Pulliam) Newsgroups: sci.military Subject: alt.desert-shield Message-ID: <1990Oct2.234704.22468@cbnews.att.com> Date: 2 Oct 90 23:47:04 GMT Sender: military-request@att.att.com Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories Lines: 25 Approved: military@att.att.com From: John Pulliam For those who are interested and have access to it, there is a new newsgroup, named alt.desert-shield, which picks up in the political realm where this newsgroup lets off. a.d-s doesn't threaten this group in any way, as the discussions (at least so far) are not nearly as technical/scientific. At the same time, the new group will allow more in-depth discussion of the political and cultural aspects of the conflict than does the charter of sci.military. One warning: the new group is not actively moderated, so don't cringe when you tune in and find relative chaos (thank you, Bill, for keeping us in focus; I finally understand the true value of a moderator). I have proposed that a.d-s be moderated, but don't know if that will fly. [mod.note: alt.desert-shield has not yet arrived at my site. Until it does, I will be unable to crosspost articles to that group. Please bear this in mind as you formulate followups; you may find it best to write two separate articles, one for a.d-s, one for sci.military. - Bill ] Personal notes: hello Mary, Brian and Woody! No, I didn't go to SWA; I'm back on the net for (I hope) a few more months. Thanks for the letter, Woody!
