I've been following this stream for a while, and I have a question.

If you cannot agree what you mean by a property being "emergent", and you
cannot agree whether a given property of a system should be described as
"emergent" then would it not be more helpful to identify the important
concept which you want to be able to label, and then simply agree to use the
term "emergent" (or any other, if that one is irretrievably damaged) to
label it?
