Wood) Organization: Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility Lines: 26 I have recently installed GNU Emacs on VMS (5.x) and it works fine. However, I am having some problems with flow control (^S and ^Q), and I am also looking for VMS implimentations of some GNU features that don't work under VMS. 1. On most terminals I am able to get around the conflict between the search command and other key bindings that use ^S by turning off flow control on the terminal. However, when I dial into the VMS system using MSKermit version 3.02, passing through a Dec LAT TErminal server, I am unable to solve all the problems. I turn off flow control on both the terminal server and the kermit emulator, but when I type ^S to do a search, any further typing is blocked until I type ^Q. Has anyone seen (and solved) this problem for this particular configuration (MSKERMIT and DEC Terminal server)? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a redfinition of the commands that use ^S. 2. Under VMS, some features of GNU Emacs (generally involving processes) don't work. Does anyone have any implimentations of in particular dired and the mail commands? Thanks for any info. --------------------------------------------------------- Stephen A.
