First let me say that I haven't programmed much in the last 10 years or so, thus I am horribly ancient and out of practice. However, I have now decided that I would like to restart programming and am looking for some guides. I have also decided that "C" is where I want to start -- flames to /dev/null! I have also decided that to get my feet wet I would like to write my own GIF viewer for my video card. Therefore, I need some pointers to source code that I can look at or anything else that would be useful. My environment: 386/33, 8Mb, 210Mb hd, MSC 5.1, no MASM. I won't change to MSC 6.0 (I have no video libraries for my video card yet) and I sincerely doubt that I want to change to another compiler. I have seen VUGIF and there are some things I like about it. I have seen FASTGIF and there are some things I like about it. I have seen PICEM and there are things I like about it. I have also seen GCP and there are some really neat things about it. any suggestions?
