It's a fairly involved process, unless you just write the Forth in C, which is straightforward although the resulting performance is usually terrible (compared to Forth systems built in the "normal" way). I suggest you just buy a copy of Mitch Bradley's FORTH for the Sun workstation. I believe it comes with source code, and you'll save yourself a great deal of time and aggravation.
