Fortran Extended is the X3 Project Name for Fortran 90.
Fortran 90 is the official name for the old Fortran 8x.

This is the next round of public review in the United States.
ISO has received the proposed standard and is processing it
for approval.

Just because ISO approves this standard does not mean that ANSI
must adopt it as a U.S. standard.  It must be approved in the U.S.
in order for it to become an ANSI standard.

Everyone has the opportunity to comment again on the proposed standard.
