I have run into an need to save letters (mailing lists, mostly) to a semi-public directory so that others here can read them. The problem is that Elm will save files as -rw-------. Now, that's quite nice for my private letters, but I keep forgetting to open the files to the rest of the world. Is there a switch that lets me set the permissions of my files? My mail directories are locked tight anyway, so the permissions of individual files are of no real consequence. Unfortunately, I do not have net access right now, so all replies (I hope there are at lease a *few* :-) should be sent to either of the addresses below. Internet is vastly preferred, but I get mail from both. With any luck, I'll be back on the net soon, but we're getting a new campus news server and it isn't up yet... Thanks in advance for everyone's help! David Gundlach david@rolf.stat.uga.edu UGA Statistics BITNET: statuga@uga University of Georgia 404/542-3289 or 404/542-5232 "I think, therefore I am wrong."
