If both groups really still exist on your machine then your news administrator
has not been doing his job.  The original comp.ibm.pc.programmer group should
have been removed and an alias created for it referencing 
comp.os.msdos.programmer -- if this has not been done you should have a word
with your administrator.  Anyway, this sort of discussion doesn't really belong
here (try posting to news.admin :-).
