Lines: 20 I have a fair amount of experience with evaluating/analysing software and hardware performance, and have accumulated my share of "common wisdom" in the oral tradition. What I need now is some sources of printed documents, preferably written by established authorities (other than myself), that I can use as bludgeons on people who only accept that sort of thing as advice. That is to say, I know some people who are using bad approaches, but I haven't much hope that they'd listen to me if I told them so. So what I'm looking for is books and magazine articles on benchmarks and performance analysis. I'll be putting together a bibliography, so anyone who wants it should drop me a line and when it's mostly done I'll send it out. By the same token, if you have any suggestions for sources, or anything you've written or publicly delivered at a seminar, by all means tell me! -- Lyle Wang lws@comm.wang.com 508 967 2322 Lowell, MA, USA uunet!comm.wang.com!lws The scum always rises to the top.
