After a year with this program, I decided to write my own accounting program! Accounting which is vital to every business, should be somewhat enjoyable. BEST and I had several disagreements, and I won :) Removed it from my hdrive. My program is called "Money.rexx" and is written with Arexx. It's about 94k is size so far and is about 90% completed (just the printing out of the various forms yet to be done). Since I'm running a little late in filing my return, I'm slowly getting motivated to finishing it :) I have no experience in programing other than jumping into learning Arexx, but it has been fun, tho somewhat time-comsuming (500 + hours). A few months ago in one of the local general computer rags, they had an article about the top 10 accounting programs - mostly ms-dos programs. All had several good points and of course, several bad ones. It's neat knowing that one can customize a program to meet ones needs at a moments notice. I'm trying to keep those 'bad points' to a minimun :) Since Arexx is now part of the new Amiga OS, I'm glad I got involved when I did (2 years ago). "Money.rexx" was made to make good use of the mouse. Some typing is required for when a purchase description is made (which makes sense). I guess the just of this article has to do with a user being un-satisfied with products currently available. At some point, ones frustration level is met and something has to be done. If this is the only major software project I get involved in, that's fine. It does take a fair amount of key-tapping, and I do have a photography - computer graphics business to run.
