I am convinced that there is no "best editor", just the "editor I like the most". Different folks like different editors for lots of different reasons. Don't assume that since someone has a different opinion of EMACS than you that they haven't tried it. It sounds to me that the two previous posters have tried EMACS, and one doesn't like it at all, and the other likes the Amiga version, but not the GNU version. They were informed. I happen to agree with the first poster. I don't like EMACS, but that's my opinion. Can we take this to comp.editors? ***** Now back to the games: Has anyone heard if the new version of Silent Service is going to be coming out for the Amiga? I saw version II is out for the IBM PC's but the guy at the store didn't know anything about it for the Amiga. From the description on the box, it should be great! They've upgraded the graphics and sound, and added a "campaign" mode where you can go out multiple times with the same commander and get promoted, etc. That's just what I can remember having read. I'll certainly buy it if it comes out. -- Greg Hunt Internet: hunt@dg-rtp.rtp.dg.com DG/UX Kernel Development UUCP: {world}!mcnc!rti!dg-rtp!hunt Data General Corporation Research Triangle Park, NC These opinions are mine, not DG's.
