WAR ROOM: When the stuff is loading from the disk, pause the game with the mouse button. I've found that I can save at least 1 month this way. That's 1 month longer that you get to stay in the war room and move your guys. NEVER USE high priority agents or put two agents in one country. That col. leermeister really seems to like it if you do. Stay in the war room as long as you can (8 months or so) but after that make sure you get out of ft. dix. 2. Blimp screen : shoot those missles!!!! if you shoot a whole bunch, you can advance to the next screen more quickly and the blimp will not move across the atlantic as much as it would. By the way, the blimp will be in the atlantic for 1 year after the start of the game. Once you get on the blimp, don't be a smart aleck!!! I know its fun, but its not wise :-) 3. Locate the lunarium dumps right away. 4. Only go across the atlantic if you need to - locate all the parts and lunarium dump before you doo this. You should do this step about halfway through the game. General rule: Going across the atlantic costs a full year and each flag on the map is about 1 month. You save time by moving very efficiently and not crisscrossing back and forth. I've found that one trip across the ocean is all that you need. While you're away from home, Make SURE you don't run out of lunarium, cause that sub ride costs a lot of time. Pause the game and plot your course, (don't think this is dumb: remember this game is part strategy). 4a. Destroying bases DOES help timewise. After practice, you can get past any obstacle. planes: only kill one or two each pass, any more and you will get shot too. However, getting shot down costs you time. 5. make a map and keep track of which parts are where. You can use the RangerPad picture on one of the cucug disks at ux1.cso.uiuc.edu. 6. the lunarium dumps are always in certain countries. get used to putting your agents here. also Canada almost always has a rocket part. 7. on the moon, watch out for those nazi babes!!! Hope this helps, Don Sheythe dsheythe@milton.u.washington.edu
