Does anyone have kermit working on their Apollos running SR10.2? Yes, we do. I got mine from ftp on kolvi.hut.fi and it has given me no problems what so ever. The one I got was the newest release, it's still a test version. But it has not broken yet. I could also put it up for anon-ftp on our site so that you can get it in binary form. > >Related to this problem ... whenever I FTP an executable from an apollo to >an apollo using the binary transfer type, then try to execute it, >I get the error message : >?(sh) syntax error on line 1 of "" - A control character > was found where it was not expected. >I must be missing something simple but I don't know what. If you bin-ftp something, it will get to you on disk as an unstruct file This means that it is a 'text' file. Now you can change the type with 'obty' and you can set it to either obj or coff. Use obj for SR9.7 programs use coff for SR10 programs. This worked for me without any problems, perhaps there are catches so be aware.
