Since my machine is so old and the internal so wimpy I did. Here'swhat I found out. The original suggestion to hookup a line level output with a 4.7uf cap worked if and only if I leave the original 8ohm speaker in place. Removing the speaker just gave a lot of noise vaguely resembling listening to a modem connection. I think the problem was with the resistence of the internal speaker. So, what I did was hookup an external speaker (8ohm) and then tap the cap off into a line out. Needless to say, 40 watts can make even the boringest games much better. Schemeatics: pc - -------------o-------------------------------- rca ring | (8ohm speaker) | 4.7uf elec cap + -------------o------------|(------------------- rca pin I haven't tried just putting in an 8ohm resistor, since this setup works fine for me. This way, I still have a speaker connected all the time, and can turn on the amp when I want to have some REAL sound.
