A friend of mine has had a bad thing happen.

When he turns on his SE, it refuses to acknowledge the existence of his
hard drive.  When I examined the disk with SilverLining and other assorted
utilities, it said "Bad Partition map"

I don't know what to do now, but I seem to recall others recovering from this
and was hoping that someone could help me with this.
