I tried compiling the latest resolver library from Berkeley (4.8.3) with
-pic, but "ld -assert pure-text" complains about several of the modules.
Before I reinvent the proverbial wheel I want to find out if someone else
has already fixed this.

The ld man page notes problems regarding the use "-r" on modules compiled
with "-pic", but removing the "-r" option to ld seems to be the wrong
thing to do.

I'm trying to do this on a Sparcstation 1+ (a.k.a. 4/65) running SunOS
4.1.

Any information is appreciated!
