Here's the scoop: SparcStation 1+ SunOS 4.1 NIS Master Server Sun PC-NFS 3.0.1 pcnfsd compiled (under 4.1) from source on PC-NFS disks When the PC issues the NET NAME * command, we get a authentication failure ~50% of the time. Doing a retry and entering the user name / password combination rarely (if ever) works. However, rebooting the PC at this point will result in no authentication problems (~95% of the time). We have been using PC-NFS for 1-2 years now with NO problems. This sprang up _immediately_ after we upgraded the server to 4.1... BTW, I also tried the newest version of pcnfsd that was posted recently to c.p.n but the results are identical. Any takers? Geoff? Thanks in advance, Robert | Robert L.
