USA Lines: 25 My Wife's department has a 386/25 clone with 5M Ram ( 1 on the board & 4 on a card). They want to run windows3.0 BUT they also need to run a custom application. The short story is that they need some management of the high bank that is palatable to Windows and will also handle RAMDRIVE.SYS residing in a very specific place. I need to install EMM386 manually in config.sys specifying the frame location and hiding the upper bank from Windows. Something like: device=emm386.sys 1984 ON FRAME=A000 EXCLUDE=C000-EFFF Except that the above doesn't work. How come these strings can be found in a file dump, but aren't accepted from the command line? I Think I know, and I hope I'm wrong. Any help would be appreciated. I know about 386max but would prefer to do it this way. Please, no rtfm's. source ~/.many_thanks -- R.
