According to my friend who has the Tseng MEGA VGA 1024 card with the ET4000 chip, these drivers work in all three modes on his 386 machine. My own Optima 1024 uses the Tseng ET3000 chip and is of course not supported by these drivers. Fortunately, by mixing driver parts from Eizo with driver parts from Orchid (both available on cica.cica.indiana.edu) I finally got a working 256 color driver, which runs in all three modes on *my* card.
