This is a piece of graphic software and so uses things like GCs, pixmaps, createimages and the like. When we use a decstation connected by decnet as the server, then the software works OK. When we use a colour Sun (running X11R4) or Tektronix XN27 connected by tcp/ip, then we get the following failure at initialisation time: Illegal unit size: 8 found in routine: _normalizeimagebits %XLIB-F-LIBABORT, xlib fatal error The routine _normalizeimagebits is internal to decwindows which makes us suspect that there may be an incompatibility problem.
