Subject: Can't use ncs font in mwm - why?

I just modified my mwm font definition in my .Xdefaults file to:

Mwm*fontList:     -adobe-new century schoolbook-bold-r-normal--14-*

but it doesn't recognize the font when I restart (uses fixed).  It did
recognize my previous choice (courier).  Methinks the problem is with
the embedded spaces.  I have tried removing the spaces, and putting the
font name in double quotes and single quotes.  Nothing worked.  What
should I do?
