Hi Bill,
     Excuse me for jumping here, but thought I would answer your 
question.  No, the Arkenstone will not work with an XT style machine. 
Upgrading the motherboard won't help either since it needs an AT style 
bus.  The Kurzweil PC/KPR will work with an XT however, but it's minimum 
configuration is $3695 while the minimum configuration from Arkenstone is 
$2495.  These two configurations are quite different it should be noted, 
you're getting less with the minimum from Arkenstone.  The configuration 
from Arkenstone equivalent to the minimum from Kurzweil is more ($3995).
