Please send it to:......" Three, AP> "If you, the person you are talking to, AP> can not help me, please tell me who AP> can. Can you give me the number, please." I believe you'll find that the application form is sf171 not gs171. Just remember that this designation stands for standard form 171. It is used as the standard job application form for federal civil service. Relating something hard to remember to something well known is an old memorization trick. I'd suggest you search out jobs in your area that are difficult for the federal government to keep filled. You may already be qualified to fill them. If not, consider getting the training/education required to qualify. They will try harder to fill, and keep filled, these positions. Ask about excepted (non-competitive) service. This program will give you the opportunity to get your foot in the door. It may be extremely difficult to get into the federal civil service system, but once inside, it is much easier to find that job you're looking for. Consider anything that you're qualified for to get inside, then look for better opportunities. Above all, be persistent. The federal civil service system is huge, and most of the personnel offices are swamped, especially now. Be warned, most federal agencies are reducing their personnel. It is therefore important to find out what will make you attractive as an employee to your local federal agencies. You must do this if you expect to be asked to enter the system at the same time many are being forced to leave. Don't let this discourage you. Remember also, it is your responsibility to search out this info. Don't assume anyone will look out for you. Happy hunting ....
