Having grown up in an area where I was the only deaf person I had ever met... meeting all these other deafies like myself was a shocking experience to say the least. I still have some trouble with signs even though it has been ten years or more now since.. but I can say that my receptive skills are much better than my sign skills themselves. One thing I have noticed is that when i use sim comm (voice and sign both) My signs are L O U S Y and much slwoer than when i simply sign without voice. Part of the reason for this is that when one uses voice they are in reality speaking two languages at the same time. A feat i'd like to see some hearing people do with voice. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!109!147.0!Christine.Selfe Internet: Christine.Selfe@p0.f147.n109.z1.fidonet.org
