When you only need to build a few custom >coils, why spend hundreds for a large spool of wire and a gross of slugs? Seriously though - try a surplus store. They usually have lots of junk that could be dismantled to yield the desired parts. Alternatively, call the manufacturer and tell them that you are a senior engineer at Whizbang Devices Corp and you need engineering samples of their product.
