An aussie who is travelling to LA in JANUARY 91 and HAWAI 91
would like to purchase a radar detector.The criteria should be
1.X and K band (are they the same frequency in both countries)    
2.Photoradar detection(is it the same freq. as either X K or seperate)and
3.Discriminatory and sensitive(to extraneous freqs,like auto tellers etc)

any help including prices ,brands and practical applications would be 
of immense value.
Just a note that we will be in Santa Monica and surrounds for five days
before flying to UK.So if there are any recommended suppliers please
advise.
Anyone in the UK is welcome to contribute.
The big sellers in Aus, are Uniden and Cobra ,the top of the line models sell
for $400-$600 .Therefore a comparison is required.
