I was just visiting Coherent Research in Syracuse New York (315-555-1212 for the phone number) and saw a demo of their Coherent Processor. This is a very sparsely connnected SIMD machine with one bit processors and plenty of CAM. They were running a neural net like recognizer of letters. If you call them up, they can send you application notes on how they did it. The board costs $19,500, fits in a IBM-PC and has 4096 processors. Of course, they are different processors than CM processors or MASPAR processors. -Peter Wayner (wayner@cs.cornell.edu) Peter Wayner Department of Computer Science Cornell Univ.
