However, a Japanese University started working on it, and a mail group was formed to work on developing it. The group has since died :-(, but you can get jstevie's sources and binaries for various platforms at utsun.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp You might also want to look into Elvis. I, however, found that one of Stevie's limitations (file can't be bigger than available mem) is also one of its assets; it is significantly faster than Elvis, especially on slower machines.
