I find that during the workday, when the system is heavily loaded with other users, that emacs frequently goes into long pauses while I am working. This especially happens while using the terminal-emulator, and is not accompanied by a "Collecting Garbage" message. When emacs does display, the "Collecting Garbage" message, the pause is usually rather short. Because of this problem, I have resorted to using emacs as an external editor during times of heavy usage. -David- david@wubios.wustl.edu ^ Mr. David J.
