Now, I know that a DN2500 is not the most powerful machine around, but a year or so ago it would have been considered fairly decent. Also I do have 12 MB, which is usually adequate. And there are no other large jobs running. I have found Objectworks to be so slow as to be all but unusable, particularly in menu interactions and scrolling. It is FAR, FAR worse than the previous version (2.3?). Scrolling is very sluggish, with the marker lagging far behind the pointer. Menu items usually don't get highlighted until the mouse stops moving for about 1/2 second. I have heard that the stock Apollo X11 server is not the best (in performance), but it is acceptable for almost all other applications. Its quite a disappointment. Was wondering if anyone had more positive experiences on equivalent hardware. -- Prof. Neal Holtz, Dept. of Civil Eng., Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada Internet: holtz@civeng.carleton.ca Tel: (613)788-5797 Fax: (613)788-3951
