The sr10.2 x11r3 share-mode server is *unusably slow*. If you want to run X on your Apollo, you *must* install something called "psk5." This is a big patch tape that includes lots of goodies, including a new DM. It will boost your X performance by a factor of 3 to 10. Run to your nearest HP office and camp out until they give this to you.
