Message-ID: Date: 12 Oct 90 02:28:05 GMT Organization: Class of '90, Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 16 I am looking for some help on the instalation of a hard drive in an IBM PC. The drive is a Seagate 21Mb MFM and the computer is an IBM PC (no XT or anything). The drive was purchased second-hand with no manuals but was sold with a controller card. The previous owner said that there was a jumper on the card that had to be set according to the size of the drive and he gave us the Seagate setup disk. I can't seem to get the computer to recognize the drive, nor can I get the setup program to read the hard disk properly to reformat it. I would appreciate any help you can offer as this is my first non-microchannel installation. -Geoff Internet => gc1m+@andrew.cmu.edu BITNet => gc1m%andrew@cmccvb
