I personally will always regret having never had the opportunity to attend a performance that he conducted. His compositions, conducting, and enthusiasm for music served as an inspiration to me, as I'm sure they did to many others. One can only be happy for him that he did not suffer with his infirmity for long. R. Mercuri I attended one of his concerts at Tanglewood on the fourth of July. I was twelve. My brothers were 10 and 6. We were mad that we couldn't see fireworks and talked through the whole thing. Funny, we couldn't understand why everyone was telling us to be quiet. After all, it was only some dumb old concert for a buncha people out on a lawn. All I really remember of the performance is that Tanglewood had very good box lunches. So much for missed opportunities. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eric Iverson Internet: eiverson@nmsu.edu Computing Research Lab Box 30001/3CRL Life is something to do when New Mexico State University you can't get to sleep.
