1.) you may take the GNU stuff: as, ld, a, .... and c68 instead of gcc,
    which is a memory hog

2.) a ld was posted here (due to f. Croes, I believe). I switched to that
    ld a while ago, using only cpp&as from the ACK toolset

3.) a cpp (Decus cpp) was posted here, but I have not tested it (together
    with c68)
