There seem to be quite a few extensions for MINIX. for instance, shoelaces, a symlinks extension, virtual consoles, 386-isms, 680x0-isms, upgrade kits for 1.3 -> 1.5, etc. patches for various minix tools, improved device-drivers for various systems, ... Could someone give me a summary of the most important (i.e. most useful) patches and extensions to MINIX? As someone new to MINIX, I don't know what's worth FTP-ing and what's not; I'd rather spend my time building on other people's work that fixing already-fixed bugs. I'd also like to hear OPINIONS: what extensions have people installed, what's a kludge and what's not, what do people find most useful. (I'm collecting ideas for my own MINIX-verse). ****** I'll post a composite of whatever I info I received. BTW, the MINIX Info_sheet should contain this type of info, but doesn't.
