	Connectathon (TM) is the name of an event whose original purpose was
to bring together NFS implementations and ensure that they interoperated.  In
later years, X Window System testing has also been added.  I've been there as
a vendor and as part of the group putting it on.  It was never intended to be
a competition.  Nor is it intended to be a trade show (although there is a
press event at its conclusion).  It is purely an engineering event.  Any NFS
or X Window System implementation is eligible (and should make a concerted
effort) to attend.  An announcement is normally published in comp.protocols.nfs
and comp.windows.x when the dates and location have been decided.
	Testing results are never published.  Sun (the event's major sponsor)
doesn't even allow access to the results by any of our employees who aren't
directly involved in running the event.
