I was delighted that patch level 7 allowed me to build ATK on a pmax
(finally).  Everything works--except console, which core-dumps within a
minute of starting up.  That is, it generally displays everything,
updates itself, then rolls over and dies, leaving a core dump.

Does this ring any bells with anybody?  If not, where should I start to look?
