The current implementation only allows about 1-2 K Bytes per second, since it passes the interrupts. A better (at least faster) solution would be a software which drives the port directly, bypassing the interrupt. When printing on a SUN 3/80 for instance, one can easily obtain 20 K Bytes/s, but unfortunately (ugh!!!) I have to run this on MS DOS as well.
