Answering a Zork Question early about a port for amiga. I have seen it on Amiga. I don't have it, but a friend had all three I believe. I think they all come on the same disk. My question to you is...Zork? Haha. The amiga port of infocom games are really nice because they are fairly small and can be multi-tasked pretty easy. They also have nice windows and some of the infocom games have built in invisiclues. If you really want an excellent textual EXTENDED adventure, try Beyond Zork or Zork Zero! I have Beyond Zork and I have been trying to get Zork Zero (If anyone has it and would like to sell it, you can leave me mail). But if you prefer clicking away at a simple by comparison parser, be my guest.. (and why go at um again if you beat um?) OK, Now, I am playing Chrono-Quest II now and I need a hint. Can anyone tell me something about how to get the lizard on the wall near the cyclops' cave? I have not been able to get into the cave yet (I can't figure out how to clear the bushes away) and when i try to pick up the lizard, it scurries into the stones. For those who haven't seen chronoquest, I really wouldn't recommend it. It is ok I suppose, but it has bugs in it and it wasn't what i expected at all. In fact, it only loads once in three times! I boot from a backup, but the original does the same thing! And when it finally does boot it sometimes Guru's on me. I have a 1000 and thought maybe that was the problem, but I loaded it on a friends 500 and it crashed after setting for a while with no input! We walked off and came back and it was freaking. Definate dissappoint- ment! Also, I have just got to mention something.... I have seen lots of complaints on here about how Sierra ports IBM versions to amiga. Ok, So what? haha. The graphics are adequate enough to stimulate the feeling that you are really there (if you play it and don't stare at the screen yelling IBM sucks). The only thing I would improve is the speed of animation. It could surely be faster. I agree it would be nice to have great amiga hires and sound, but thats making an already large program larger. I want them to run on my piddly 1000 512k system! I think sierra does an excellent job at programming! The scenarios are interesting and intriguing. Space Quest III has had better graphics than what i have seen in past ones and the game itself amazes me. I WOULD recommend it to avid adventure players. It is not TOOO HARD, yet it still poses a challenge. (Its not like some infocom games that require you to enter a barn and type.. >cow, All around the mayberry bush the monkey chased the weasel Finally, if you still think the ports are that bad, I suggest you grab a amiga C book and start writing your own sierra type programm development system-> OOooo hard isnt it. Give the guys a break- they produce a good product and at least it runs with no gurus! Maybe you would like it to be like fairy tale adventure (which is an excellent game) and just cut out all typing?!?! HAhahaha Sorry, I got a little carried away. I think the sierra development team deserves a round of applause. Byron Guernsey
