Does anyone know how to finish the last level (I think) of Space Quest III?

When I've kicked the big robots but, he drops thrue the wall with his
head. Me, and my two companions flee to the ship and fly away with it.
But the enemy ships follow me and in no time my shields are gone and I'm
a floating cloud of spacedust. How do ya beat them ??
