In the San Francisco Chronicle article on the Big Mac roll out 
there was a small paragraph buried in the story stating:

Apple will phase out its Apple II (does not say IIGS but only II) 
computer said Robert Puette (Apple USA President) in an interview 
before the introduction.

Now please don't flame me, I am only quoting the local Business 
Section.  Perhaps someone who gets the San Jose Mercury might have 
a more in-depth article.
