Hello all,

I inherited an old modem and I'm trying to get it working with my ST.  Can
anybody out there help me with it?

The modem is an old Western Electric 1200-bps modem, connected to a
touch-tone desk set.  The label on the bottom of the modem says:

(I assume that the "1V MG 78" is a date code, and that the modem is
about 12 years old...?)

There are 5 pushbutton toggle switches on the front:

	AL  ST  RDL  DL  HS

There are 8 indicator lights on the front:

	MB  TR  MR  SD  RD  HS  MC  TM

The lights can be turned on in various combinations, depending on how you set
the swtiches.  Not all the lights come on at once.

I have tried several different switch combinations (less than 2^5 - 1) and
haven't yet been able to connect to any local BBS's.  Any help anyone could
give me would be appreciated.  I'll gladly pay for a photocopy of the original
manual, even.
