It is actually very flexible once one gets used to it. The ability to attach files to messages is actually quite neat. It is frustrating to learn a complex new BBS at long distance telephone rates when the real desire is to get info on a calculator. Perhaps HP could write up a tutorial full of examples that work and lots of explanation and sell it for $5 or $10. . They probably could have saved some grief for themselves and others by using a cheap PC and BBS, but then the tie in to comp.sys.handhelds wouldn't be there and multi phone lines would be difficult or expensive. I do suspect that the vast majority of people calling in have a pc or mac and that most unix computers must have a vt100 emulator in them somewhere. They should dig up a Vectra from somewhere, put PC Board, Auntie, or Phoenix on it with the single phone line in the manual, and put a message on it with a phone number and description for the other (current) bbs. The hassel would have to be much less than dealing with all the abuse they get and the frustrations of the many people confused by the current bbs must be adding up to a lot of bad feelings.
