I don't know whether sun have put automount into the PD but there is a free alternative --- "amd" written by Jan-Simon Pendry . This gives you all the capabilities of Sun's automounter and more. Additional mount types, talks to hesiod as well as YP, runs on lots of different systems. We run it here on our HP's (300's and 800's running HPUX and MORE/bsd) and our Suns. amd 5.2 is available for anon ftp from usc.edu in pub/amd/... This version was apparently included in the BSD 4.3-reno release. There is also a 5.3 version that is currently in alpha release. cheers mark
